Anxiety

For anxiety, we work on understanding what is maintaining the anxiety while developing practical ways of changing anxious thinking, avoidance and unhelpful coping behaviours.

Understanding Anxiety & Finding the Right Support

“I suffered with anxiety for years and saw many professionals... I feel so much better. I see her once a month now as I enjoy going to see her and it helps so much!”

Understand Your Anxiety. Regain Control. Move Forward.

Anxiety can affect much more than your thoughts. It can influence your sleep, concentration, relationships, confidence, work and everyday decisions. Whether you experience constant worry, panic attacks, social anxiety or anxiety that feels difficult to explain, professional support can help you understand what is happening and develop healthier ways of managing it.

At London Psychologist Centre, we provide personalised psychological support for children, teenagers and adults experiencing anxiety. Your treatment is tailored to your individual circumstances, symptoms and goals, using appropriate, evidence-based therapeutic approaches to help you make meaningful and lasting changes.

How I Assess and Treat Anxiety

My approach is highly personalised, focusing on breaking the specific cycles that keep your anxiety going.

Comprehensive Assessment: I begin with a thorough, compassionate assessment to understand your unique symptoms, triggers, and exactly how anxiety is impacting your daily life, work, or relationships.

Understanding What Maintains It: Anxiety persists when hidden patterns keep it alive. I will work with you to identify unhelpful thinking styles (like catastrophising), avoidance behaviours, and subtle “safety behaviours” that accidentally reinforce the fear over time.

Evidence-Based Treatment: Once we understand the root of the cycle, I use proven therapeutic approaches (such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) to help you challenge anxious thoughts, gradually reduce avoidance, and build practical, healthier coping strategies for lasting change.

Common Symptoms

Health Anxiety

Support for Health Anxiety

Health anxiety involves persistent, overwhelming worries about having or developing a serious medical condition, often continuing even after medical reassurance. It can trap you in a distressing cycle of:

  • Frequently checking your body for signs of illness.
  • Seeking repeated reassurance from doctors, family, or friends.
  • Misinterpreting normal, harmless bodily sensations as dangerous
  • Obsessively researching symptoms online or, conversely, avoiding all health-related information.

How I can help: I specialise in helping you break this cycle. We will work together to understand what maintains your health worries, reduce excessive body-checking and reassurance-seeking, learn to tolerate uncertainty, and build a healthier, calmer relationship with your body.

Active, evidence-based, solution-focused therapy.
